Podere La Foce is a comfortable and attractive Tuscan farmhouse overlooking Monterchi, on the border of Tuscany and Umbria, with an outstanding panorama of Tuscany and easy access to many medieval cities.

The restored farmhouse and adjacent barn offer flexible accommodation for parties large and small, with a sliding scale of charges based on occupancy, not a flat rate. A booking guarantees exclusive use of the entire property.

The house and barn stand in extensive gardens where aromatic plants and fruit trees attract remarkable butterflies. Visiting mammals include deer, porcupine, hare and boar. Birdlife includes nightingales, golden oriole, common buzzard and kingfisher, attracted by the spring that runs down the edge of the land and which gives the farm its name.

There is a 12mx5m pool with lovely views, shady areas, table tennis, a kickabout space, and 35 acres of gently sloping parkland with many fruit, nut and ornamental trees and shrubs, and natural woodland.

The area is famous for its natural beauty, with a wealth of wildlife, and for its place in the Piero della Francesca trail. A fresco by this outstanding artist of the Quattrocento is within walking distance, in Monterchi, and there are many other artistic treasures within easy reach, including a newly restored terracotta Madonna and Child by Donatello, and the modern art of Alberto Burri.

Easy paths lead off in several directions for walks of varying lengths, some with climbs, some flat, and there are other activities nearby.
